·         9th – 12th Grade Classes: Monday, July 9, 2012 through Thursday, Aug 9, 2012

– No Classes on Friday’s.

·         Times: Two 2 hour and 25 minute classes:  7:30 AM – 9:55 AM; 10:00 AM – 12:25 PM

Fee for Classroom Sessions:                        

·         Residents:      $200/course     FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF REGISTRATION

·         Non-Residents: $250/course     CASH/MONEY ORDERS ONLY:  CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
9th through 12th grade students may elect a maximum of two courses.  Walk in registration at Thurston High School is available until Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  No late registration – classes begin Tuesday, July 9, 2012.
1.       Although this is an on-line course students are required to attend during regular scheduled class time to complete their work.
2.        Regardless of the reason for absence, students who are absent more than 3 times to any class may not receive credit and may not be able to attend the duration of the program.  No refunds will be given after the third class for all students registered in the program. 
Four tardies are equivalent to one absence.  Lateness to class after the break is counted as one of the four tardies.
1st Class starts at 7:30 a.m.
2rd Class starts at 10:00 a.m.
7:30-7:35 a.m. …. ¼ absence
10:00-10:05 a.m.… ¼ absence
7:36-7:40 a.m. ….½ absence
10:06-10:10 a.m. …½ absence
3.        Students must demonstrate acceptable standards of behavior.  Students must be courteous, respectful, and cooperative in their relationships with fellow students, staff members, other school employees and members of the community.
4.        The following are NOT permitted in summer school or on any school property: Cigarette papers, pipes, lighters, tobacco products, any item(s) used for smoking or in the drug culture, hats,
communication devices, pagers, radios, tape/cd players, video recorders, portable televisions, laser pens, headsets, or other items deemed to contribute to improper behavior.
5.        Students found in violation of school policy or exhibiting serious behavioral problems, such as fighting or possession of illicit materials may be immediately removed from the program without a refund.  Any seriously disruptive behavior or involvement with illicit materials will result in legal prosecution.
6.        Dress Code and all other school policies apply as during the school year.
7.        Skateboards and/or roller blades are NOT permitted in the school building. Bicycles must be secured outside of the school building.

·        Lab Hours are 7:30 am to 9:55 am; 10:00 am – 12:25 pm
·        It is anticipated that each course may require up to 80 hours of work to complete
·        Students electing 2 online classes through Plato web.  They will receive their login and all necessary information the first day of classes. They should have outside access to a computer with high speed internet in order to complete the courses. 
·        Redford Public Library provides computers with internet access.  They are located on Beech Daly and 6 mile.  Hours vary; you can contact the library at (313) 531-5960 to ensure the library will be open when you want to work on your class.  You can work on the computers for an hour at a time, and then you must renew your computer.  It is necessary to have a library card to work on the computers.  You can get one if you are a Redford resident, or prove you attend THS.  If you are not 18, you must have an adult present. 
·        Students taking online courses may finish before the end of the scheduled lab dates and would not need to attend class once the course work has been successfully completed. 
·        If you are not a resident of South Redford School District, it is your responsibility to confirm that your home school will accept Plato Online Credit Recovery.
All on-line courses are designed for students who have failed their courses or experienced difficulty mastering basic skills and concepts.  You must have failed the class in the past to take credit recovery.  You can login to Zangle to determine which classes you have failed in the past.
